Certificate Authority

We operate private certificate authorities on your behalf, to issue certificates that give your devices unique, trustworthy identities. We operate Matter PAAs (product attestation authorities) on behalf of Matter vendors as an outsourced provider.

Code Signing

Our PRiSM code signing service securely protects the keys used to sign your firmware. Access to signing function is protected by hardware security tokens and logged to support auditing.

Device Certificate Provisioning

Our device provisioning solutions provision your devices with certificates that vouch for their unique identities and help prevent device impersonation, service theft, and unauthorized access to private user data. We perform secure high-volume provisioning in any manufacturing setting or OTA (over-the-air) that can install or replace certificates in devices already deployed. We operate private certificate authorities on your behalf, to issue certificates that give your devices unique, trustworthy identities. We operate Matter PAAs and directly provision Matter DACs (device attestation certificates) on behalf Matter vendors as an outsourced provider.

Certificate Provisioning Client

For factory and OTA certificate provisioning use cases, we offer several lightweight device-side clients that interface with our OTA service to securely obtain and install device certificates onto IoT devices. Our client integration kit supports the following use cases:

Cloud Onboarding

Our certificate provisioning capabilities enable IoT devices to be registered with cloud-based IoT hubs using authentication based on CA-issued certificates. Our solution is compatible with AWS IoT and Azure IoT cloud architectures as well as private cloud. We can also export device identity information recorded from provisioning activities to support batch identity upload and programmatic registration of individual devices.

Fleet Management

CommScope’s ECO Service Management Platform™ suite offers a fleet management solution for devices in consumer homes. Through the use of ECO Envoy and ECO Control, IoT devices can be managed using Broadband Forum’s TR-369 protocol. The ECO Service Management Platform is available as SaaS but is also self-hostable, making it compatible with applications that require privately-hosted fleet management.

Partnership with STMicroelectronics

CommScope partners with STMicroelectronics to make available our IoT services to device manufacturers who base product designs on the STM32 family of MCUs (microcontrollers). In the following video, we have demonstrated OTA device certificate provisioning capabilities using reference designs based on STMicroelectronics’ STM32L4+ and STM32U5 series of MCUs.
